Celebration half training–Week 1 done

Well, as the title says, I am 1 week down in my training for the Celebration Half Marathon. This is the same half I registered for last year, and then didn’t run.

Fingers crossed that training is more successful this ago around – I think it will be. I live in a much more runner friendly area, with a super long bike trail just across the highway (it’s about 1 mile away) – that’s much closer than the trail that we had in Hernando County.

It’s been a really hot week, so that stinks, but I’m hoping the weather is going to take a turn and start to cool down soon.

This weeks training looked like this:

Monday: total body cardio fix (21 day fix workout)
Tuesday: 3 mi run (8:58avg)
Wednesday: Lower Fix
Thursday: 3mi (9:21 avg)
Friday: unplanned rest day
Saturday: 3 mi (8:48 avg)
Sunday: supposed to be pilates fix, but I might run again if it’s relatively cool in the morning.

total: 9 miles, 2 cross training days!

Off to a good start..

This coming week looks basically the same with a longer run of FOUR miles on Saturday!! Ha! I can’t wait until I’m actually have some real distance with my long runs. I could probably run longer than 4 miles, but I’m trying really hard to be cautious and build up my mileage appropriately so I don’t end up injured.

This week I also took on the 3 day refresh – which is a beach body product to help kick start your health & Fitness journey, or to help you (me) get back on track. I’ve really been struggling to eat healthy since we got back from Vacation. Our house selling happened really quickly, and it was chaos trying to find a new house, pack our old house, Chris was traveling, I was traveling, we were staying with family – Chris started a new job.. It’s just been a crazy 90 days, and I just couldn’t get my act together.

So a few weeks ago I decided I was going to do the 3 day refresh to kick my butt in gear, and then I would continue with the 21 day fix nutrition plan while I’m training for my half marathon.

I completed 3 day refresh on Wednesday evening – I was down 3lbs, and a little over an inch. But more importantly I kicked the 3-4 cup of coffee a day, and endless amounts of sugary oatmeal & Cereal, and those were my real goals. I just wanted to get back on track with my eating.
